Quinta do Noval Vintage Port 2013
Vintage Ports are declared only in great years (3 or 4 years in a decade) and only when the wines come up to Noval’s exacting standards.
All the grapes come from the Quinta do Noval vineyard. Grapes are trodden by foot to obtain the must, then during fermentation macerate to obtain the best possible extraction in the lagares, the traditional stone vats from the Quinta. It is matured for 18 months in wooden vats of various capacities.
Sweet, intense blackberry and cherry nose is quite floral with some raspberry jam notes. The palate is really pretty and elegant with firm tannins under the bright cherry and berry fruit. It is more red fruits than black, and it has a fine spiciness. Fresh, showing great potential. An elegant, Burgundian expression of Port.
Store and serve advices
Should be opened two hours before serving and decanted. Serve between 17º and 18º C. Store the bottle on its side, in a cool, dry and dark place.
Good with cheese and desserts.
