Quinta do Portal Muscat
The Douro also has a DOP for sweet, fortified Moscatel: Moscatel do Douro. The Moscatel Galego Branco vine is to be found to a certain extent all over the Douro demarkated region, but particularly around the towns of Alijó and Favaios, on a high, undulating plateau, some 10km up winding roads north of the River Douro, on the northern edge of the Douro’s central heartlands, the Cima Corgo. The majority of DOP Moscatel do Douro comes from Favaios.
