Caves São João (94 Anos de História edition) 1965 Old Brandy
Established in 1920 by the brothers José, Manuel and Albano Costa, the Wine-cellars Caves S. João are a family company that, in its beginnings was dedicated to the commercialization of fine wines of Douro region and liqueurs. This company, which is nowadays the most ancient wine-producing family company in full activity in the distric of Anadia, turned to the production and commercialization of table wines from Bairrada after a bill passed in the 30s prohibited the production of Oporto Wines outside the area of Vila Nova de Gaia.
45 years of aging in Portuguese oak barrels firstly wined with Oporto wine.
Dark in color, with greenish tinge . Extremely exotic aroma, curry, hazelnuts, balsamic notes, to remember almost a Madeira wine. On the palate explodes with flavor and structure and dry but with soft touch almond . Exoticism and pure class. Lush.
