Quinta do Cardo Touriga Nacional Brut 2010 Sparkling
This sparkling wine combines all the elegance and complexity of the Touriga Nacional grape, planted 700 meters above sea level. The result is a light-colored, bright rosé and fine sparkle, with delicate taste of wild strawberries and light toasty notes. Production: 8,942 bottles.
The grapes were hand picked, on September 23, carried in small boxes of 15 kg and gently pressed. Only the free run juice was fermented in stainless steel tanks at 19 °C. The wine stayed on lees in the same tanks , with monthly “battonage”. The second fermentation, by the classical method, lasted about one month. The wine stayed on the fine lees for three years, in the cellar and the bottles were shaken once a year to cause the suspension of the lees. After the “remuage”, the “degorgement” of the first three thousand bottles was made in June 2014.
Pink-salmon hue with a fine and persistent mousse. Elegant aroma of wild red fruits, floral nuances of lychee and toast notes. In the mouth it is complex with a well-balanced acidity. It has an elegant and lingering finish.
