Barão Figueira Reserve Red 2014
With a total area of 180 hectares (445 acres), the property has 69 hectares (170 acres) of organically certified vineyards, with the remaining property hosting an extensive reserve of cork trees and spontaneous forest. The first vines were planted in 1932 and the wine quality recognition has been developing over the years.
After total de-stemming, whole grapes endured a pre-fermentation maceration for 4 days. Fermentation occurred in stainless steel vats at 24-26 ° C for 6 days. The final fermentation was done in French oak barrels, where malolactic fermentation subsequently occurred. The wines aged for 9 months.
Deep ruby colour, almost violet, with great aromatic complexity. Black and red fruits stand out, such as black cherry and cassis, with balsamic resinous notes and even a touch of mocha and smoked hints, from wood ageing. Great freshness and elegance in the mouth, with a lengthy finish.
Store and serve advices
Storage Lying down at a temperature of 15°C. Serve at a temperature of 16°C to 18ºC
Good with braised fish cooking medium, spicy red meats, Stews.
