Quinta de Fafide Touriga Nacional Red 2011
Grapes exclusively from the estate, Schist soil, located around São João da Pesqueira, at an average altitude of 550 meters, with mainly exposure to East / South.
Hand-picked grapes, to tanks with an average capacity of 800 kg. Reception with full destemming and immediatly crushed. Initially the grapes gone for to the robotized "lagares" where happens the pre-fermentative fermentation, and subsequently conducted to small stainless steel vats with fermentation temperatures around 24 ºC. Smooth and controlled maceration, to get elegant and aromatic wines. Part of the wine ages predominantly in used French oak over a period of 12 months, in order to do not hide the character of the grape variety.
Extremely fresh and intense aroma typical of this grape variety. Black and red berries with notes of bergamot and basil and discreet hints from ageing in French oak barrels highlights this wine’s complexity. Very polished tannins, concentrated on the palate and a long finish.
